About the School

ICA International Conversation Academy - Ureshino Campus, located in the city of Ureshino in Saga Prefecture, offers Japanese language education for international students who aim to start working in Japan. The school's approach is not only to teach the language but also to develop the communication skills students need to express themselves in a Japanese work environment, adapt to Japanese society and lead their daily lives more independently.

In the course of study, everyday Japanese and Japanese for the workplace progress side by side. While students develop basic communication skills from the beginner level, as their level rises they move on to more practical areas such as expressing opinions, giving presentations, and understanding Japanese culture and work practices. JLPT preparation is also part of the program, and students can prepare for the N4, N3 and N2 exams according to their level.

One of the defining features of the Ureshino Campus is that career support is built directly into the study program. Students can receive support on topics such as the job-hunting system in Japan, choosing an industry, preparing a résumé and interviews, and they can get to know the working environment in Japan more closely through company information sessions, industry seminars and programs connected with the business world. Through the connections the school has established with local organizations and businesses, students are also helped to learn about employment options in and around Ureshino.

The school places importance on students using Japanese not only in the classroom but also actively in the community where they live. Ureshino is a smaller, local Japanese city known for its hot springs, traditional ryokan, Ureshino tea and Hizen Yoshida ware. Living here, away from the bustle of big cities, students have an environment where they can communicate more closely with local residents and make Japanese a natural part of their daily lives.

Support is also provided to help students who are new to Japan set up their accommodation and daily lives. Although the school does not have its own dormitory, guidance can be provided during the housing search, and students can consult school staff on matters related to part-time work, health and daily life. In this respect, the Ureshino Campus offers a different option for students who aim to work in Japan and want to spend their study period in a calmer, local environment.
