ICA International Conversation Academy – Kirishima Campus

ICA International Conversation Academy - Kirishima Campus, located in the city of Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture, offers Japanese language education especially for international students who aim to start working in Japan. The school's goal is not only to improve students' Japanese but also to help them express themselves comfortably with the people they meet at Japanese companies and in daily life, understand Japanese business culture and build a more independent life.

In the course of study, everyday Japanese and Japanese for the workplace are covered together. As their level advances, students work on skills such as more complex communication, expressing opinions, giving presentations and expressing themselves in professional settings. JLPT preparation is also part of the program, and students can prepare for the N4, N3 and N2 exams according to their level.

The Kirishima Campus also places importance on career support for students planning to work in Japan. Guidance is provided on topics such as the job-hunting process, résumé preparation, interview practice and what Japanese companies expect from foreign employees. Through company presentations, industry information sessions and events connected with the business world, the aim is for students to get to know the working environment in Japan while they are still studying.

Kirishima, where the school is located, offers a lifestyle quite different from big cities such as Tokyo and Osaka. Set in a calmer, local environment, the city is known for its mountains, natural hot springs and cultural sites such as Kirishima Jingu. Here, students have a closer-knit social environment where they can use Japanese not only at school but also in daily life and when communicating with local residents.

Support is also provided to help students who are new to Japan set up their accommodation and daily routines. Although the school does not have its own dormitory, guidance can be provided on finding housing, and students can also consult school staff on matters related to part-time work, health and daily life. In this respect, the Kirishima Campus offers a different option for students who aim to work in Japan and want to continue their studies in a more local setting, away from the bustle of big cities.
